Hi all!
I am Chao Kiat, the Team Manager for NUS contract bridge team. The first week of school just ended, and I hope all of you are coping well with uni life, after your long holidays. Just a simple introduction about our CCA, Contract bridge is a card game of logic, skill and counting. Besides being able to enjoy playing contract bridge in a social setting (we have training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursday), the more competitive among you may be delighted to know that contract bridge offers many opportunities to take part in tournaments on a regular basis. We take part in the National Bridge League in which there are 3 divisions (NUS has players in all 3 divisions).
In addition to having many tournaments to take part in, teamNUS Contract Bridge is a Varsity Sports Team (due to our many achievements) and our best players are issued teamNUS jackets and CCA points.
I hope after reading this, you will be inspired to pick up this mind sport! Some of you might already know the rules of the game; some of you might only know how to play bridge and not contract bridge, while some of you might not even know what bridge is. Don't worry! Our team is starting our beginners' course next Thursday, 18th August, 7pm at MPSH 4. For those who don't know where it is, it is in the same building as the MPSH where you guys had your matric fair earlier last month.
Do grab along any friends who are interested to learn/play bridge along with you when you come! Oh, and remember to have your dinner before coming down!
Do check our blog regularly for updates (like what we will be doing and so on). I
Cheers!

Results for Batam Kepri Cup and Pesta Sukan Asian Bridge Championships 2011
Our club sent one team for this year's Batam Kepri Cup, and I am glad to announce that our team managed to win the top junior team award, as well as top junior pair for this event. Well done guys!

For Pesta Sukan this year, our club sent out 2 teams, NUS Buriza as well as NUS (FTW). Our players fought hard, and let's put our hands together to congratulate NUS Buriza in getting 2nd runner up in the consolation rounds, as well as NUS (FTW) in getting 5th runner up in the consolation rounds.
It was a close competition, and I hope all our players have learned a lot from this competition. All the best for your future competitions!
