Here are a few updates for this week... :
1) The beginners' course on Tuesday was a success, as I believed that a number of people managed to learn a new game: Contract bridge , within the few hours of the session! Woohoo~ Also, everyone got the chance to know everyone else during the session =) So, just a gentle reminder to those whom I cannot contact via emails, beginners' course Day 2 will be on this coming Tuesday, same time same place! For those who did not turn up for the first session, but are still interested in joining us, do come down on 24th August 7pm YIH Training Room 5 for the 2nd session. :)
2) A few good links/programmes to download:
a) Bridge Base Online
The place where you can play against people from all around the world. Download the programme, create an account, and let me know your BBO Username!! My username is LCY
http://online.bridgebase.com
b) Learn to play bridge
For those who are exceptionally enthusiastic, and find that I am teaching too slowly, do go check out the programme. It contains all the basics you need to know as a bridge player. I will be teaching using this programme from next week onwards.

(Point 2 was an extract from our captain's email. So.. yup. My BBO username is szhichao btw. )
3) This update is more for seniors.. but oh well, freshies can read and know more too! SRC is organising this end-of-year road trip to west malaysia, from 6-9 Dec 2010. They will be bringing 4-5 sports teams along. During the road trip, they will try to get Msia unis to host friendly matches against us! We have submitted our emails to express our interest to go overseas (I mean.. this sounds SO EXCITING!!! and FUN! because going overseas with friends is always a good experience), so now, let's keep our fingers crossed that the universities there are able to host bridge friendly matches against us.
4) There will be a new training structure for our thursday trainings. Everyone will be divided into 3 groups. The group you are placed in is decided by yukun (our coach) and lcy (our captain). Its tentative, we might promote you if we think you are too good for the category you are initially placed in.
Group 1: Advanced Players (taken by yukun)
You will know who you are. =)
Group 2: slightly less than advanced players (taken by lcy/xming)
All other year 2s and above, and selected freshmen
Group 3: beginners (taken by me/xming)
all other freshmen.
Seniors please take note! As for freshmen, don't worry. This will only apply to you AFTER the beginners course. So meanwhile, just enjoy yourself, and for those who think you can make it to group 2... you know what to do... Lol.
That's all the updates for this week~
